THE DESIGN APPROACH
The customers of Granor Farm were predominately young families, retired couples, and an occasional day-tripper from Chicago. They wanted their brand to be modernized and tasteful, but also unpretentious and unintimidating. The visual design of the brand and website reflect that mindset, and aims to be as clean and friendly as possible. From the palette, type choices, and layout the new brand oozes with familiarity and community.
MORE THAN JUST A FARM
Granor farm is special because they offer more than just a farmers market sale. They also offer Michelin star worthy dining, and their chef shares some of her recipes on their site to promote the farm and to promote her work. All recipes include produce grown and sold at the farm. Creating a recipe section of the site was an idea we came up with to create more of a digital destination for the farm.
Before the redesign, Granor Farm was promoting their events solely on Facebook, with the occasional post on a hard-to-use calendar on their site. A major request from the client was to create a system to promote events and their dinners. We decided to aggregate all Graner Farm events into one easy to scan and book events list.
VIDEO & PHOTOGRAPHY
Granor Farm is lucky enough to have an in-house photographer and videographer, so part of the redesign was establishing a photography and video brief for the website that included compositions, mood, and the storytelling we were looking for. From the beginning stages of the site, we knew that video would be a easy way to inspire users.
